Stephen Withers  AIA

Born a long time ago in a Town in Georgia that no longer exist.

EDUCATION, LICENCES AND ASSOCIATIONS:

• Graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1967  Bachelor of Architecture Degree.
• University of Sydney, Australia Graduate Studies in 1970.
• Became a licensed architect in 1972 in Georgia through NCARB.
• Licensed in Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida until retirement.
• Member of American Institute of Architect since 1972.
• LEED Certified with USGBC in 2009.

WORK:

• Various architectural firms including TAW, MSJ, JDB, and W&W
• Taught at Georgia State University and University of Sydney.
• Architectural Licensing Seminars – Taught Design and Site Planning.
• Marriott Vacation Club. 1998 – 2010   Vice President of Architecture and Design.  
• WITHERS-LLC was formed in 2010 as an architectural consulting firm.

TRAVEL:

• Summer of 1966 traveled through Europe studying architecture.
• Traveled around the world in 1970 / 1971.
• Continued Traveling and have visited 50 states, 100 countries, 5 continents and 5 oceans.

ART:

• Have drawn and painted my whole life.
• In 2010 started spending more time painting and drawing.
• Classes and studios at Crealde, SOBO and through Watercolor Live 2020 and 2021.
• My art career goal is to be as good as my grandkids

FAMILY:

• Married in 1972 to Angela McDonald Withers (President: Nehrling Gardens).
• Three children and five grandchildren.
• Five architects in family and ten artists.   
• Lives in Windermere, Florida.
